SORN – Registering your vehicle off the road

Whilst your vehicle is off the road in storage, it can be a good idea to declare off the road with the DVLA.

This can avoid a fine should your road fund license expire and fail to renew. This is known as SORN (Statuary Off Road Notification).

This can be done by several methods:

  1. Click here to go to the DVLA website to declare your vehicle as off the road. (SORN – Statuary Off Road Notification)
  2. To declare SORN, click here to download the form to print, fill in and post back to the DVLA.
  3. To apply for road fund license refund and declare SORN click here to download the form to print, fill in and post back to the DVLA.

Windrush Car Storage advise that you do this whilst your car is in storage to avoid a fine should you fail to renew your road tax when the current one expires.
